From fishing nets and oil spills to climate change and plastic pollution – the threats facing turtles and other sea creatures are getting worse every day. Now we have a chance to turn things around.
Scientists tell us that we must protect at least 30% of our global oceans by 2030 from overfishing and other destructive practices like deep sea mining. Governments from around the world are working on a new Global Ocean Treaty. If they get this right it’ll open the door to a vast network of ocean sanctuaries, where destructive industries are banned and sea life can recover.
