Women at sea: Meet the all-female bridge crew of the Rainbow Warrior | Greenpeace Australia

Meet the warrior women at the helm of Greenpeace’s most iconic sailing vessel.

Currently women make up just 1.2% of the global seafaring workforce worldwide. Although the number of seafaring women has increased in recent years, there is much to do to increase women’s participation in the maritime industry. Greenpeace flagship sailing vessel Rainbow Warrior is a workplace proudly defying this trend.

We meet the warrior women during a transit from Albany to Fremantle in Western Australia as part of the campaign to stop global oil and gas giant Woodside’s controversial Burrup Hub gas drilling project.
